On the heels of our company being awarded recognition as Digital Trailblazer in Digital Healthcare by Xconomy, I thought I would take a minute to reflect on the role of a trailblazer as well as the other complementary attributes required to turn exploration and innovation into successful transformation.
A pair of studies presented at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) 2019 Annual Meeting provided exciting new insights into the power of Reflexion Health’s Virtual Exercise Rehabilitation Assistant (VERA™) telerehab platform to transform the process of post-surgical rehab.
“Knowing that my physical therapist was watching me do my daily exercises kept me honest and confident,” says Tom, a knee replacement patient from North Carolina. “And being able to wake up early in the morning and get my exercises done on my own time made me feel like I was really in charge of my own recovery.”
After undergoing extensive hip surgery, Becky used our VERA virtual PT tool to recover, telling us that, although she isn’t particularly “computer savvy,” she had no trouble getting started with the program. “It gives you guidance and encouragement throughout the process,” she added, “which keeps you engaged and keeps you going.”
“VERA is an outstanding program,” says Jerry, a knee replacement patient who used our telerehab platform to recover from surgery. “I could do it early in the morning or at night instead of a set time at the clinic. Since I’m a sales guy and have to be out of the office and have a lot to do, it was important that it was on my schedule.”
