Reflexion Health CEO Offers Advice on How to Achieve ‘Patient-Centered’ Care at Forbes

Writing at Forbes, Reflexion Health President and CEO and Forbes Technology Council member Dr. Joseph “Joe” Smith has published a new article describing how healthcare providers and leaders can better achieve the goal of offering care that’s truly “patient-centered.”

“While ‘patient-centered health care’ refers to a paradigm of care that focuses on the needs, wants, concerns, expectations, and values of the patient, the practical reality of today’s health care systems is that the locus of activity is often centered elsewhere — on practitioners and/or the facilities in which they work. And as a result, the patient is often forced to navigate a system designed more for the efficiency of caregivers than for the patients themselves,” Dr. Smith writes.
