VERA, which stands for Virtual Exercise Rehabilitation Assistant, is an FDA-cleared, at-home telerehab solution that lets people recover from surgery or injury from the comfort of home. For years, VERA has been gaining popularity for knee and hip surgery rehabilitation. In recent months, the system has also built upon additional clearance from the FDA to integrate new therapies for the trunk and upper extremities (i.e., shoulder and spine).
As such, VERA now stands proudly among Orthopedics This Week’s list of top spine tech for 2019. According to the editors, the list is an “annual award” rewarding “the most innovative, enduring and practical products … to treat back care.” Selection criteria include creativity, cost-effectiveness, long-term significance and the ability to solve a current clinical problem, among others.
“With a Net Promoter Score of 91, patient affinity for VERA exceeds Apple products and Amazon services,” the announcement adds.
