FDA News Announces VERA's 510(k) Clearance for 'Rehabilitating the Trunk and Upper Extremities'

No less an authority than the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has now officially reported the news that it has granted 510(k) clearance for the use of our Virtual Exercise Rehabilitation Assistant (VERA™) digital physical therapy platform in “rehabilitating the trunk and upper extremities.”

Noting that VERA has already received FDA clearance for the treatment of lower extremities — i.e., knee and hip replacement surgery — the report by the FDA News goes on to explain how the “prescription-only platform uses a computerized coach to assist patients with their rehabilitation,” while measuring patient movements “through 3D scanning,” performing “functional assessments,” and keeping track of the patient’s “physical therapy progress and statistics via a dashboard, which can be viewed by both the patient and their provider.”
